Trendy at Work

This entire look has been in my closet for over a year now. I love being able to rediscover different clothing items in my closet that I bought in the past and now know how to wear them!

Since none of these items (aside from my Warby Parker glasses) are available to purchase anymore you can get this look with the links to similar items at the bottom of the blog!

With a new career comes new clothing expectations and since the office environment I work in is business casual I had to figure out how to still feel good and confident in what I was wearing without breaking the bank or looking like I was trying too hard. I love this look because I feel cute and trendy but not over the top. Lately my go to outfit is either a bodysuit or a shirt tucked into a high waisted skirt or pants topped off with a few accessories, a nice bag, and a comfortable pair of booties. And speaking of booties, these were unfortunately not the most comfortable shoe choice. It’s a shame when you find a pair of shoes that look SO good but they hurt SO bad. I bought these black open toed booties from Target last season and only wore them once with socks on to break them in and hadn’t worn them out and about until I did this photo shoot. I thought my toes might fall off. The issue with cheap shoes is that they are made out of poor material that is clearly not supposed to be used for shoes. That was definitely the case with these booties, I got two of the biggest blisters I’ve ever had on both of my big toes from the not so great material rubbing against the top of my toe. And if that wasn’t bad enough the insole lining material was so slick that if my feet got even the tiniest bit sweaty my foot couldn’t stay in place at all which put even more pressure on my poor toes. Oh and…I only wore these shoes for 30 minutes TOTAL. Luckily these shoes aren’t being sold anymore but you can find great alternatives from well known companies below that hopefully won’t kill your feet!

As for my accessories, I try to keep it simple. If you wear glasses I really recommend checking out Warby Parker, especially if you are on a budget! I got these for $95.00 total (frame and lenses) and I absolutely LOVE them. They are comfortable, cute, and affordable—can’t go wrong there. The watch is from Fossil, it was a gift a couple years ago from my best friend (she knows my style SO well. Love her.) The most I’d pair with it would be a cute little gold chain bracelet but other than that I’m not much of a jewelry person.

I hope you like this look! Like or comment below with any questions you might have!
