Creepy + Modern Halloween

As you all know – I am obsessed with fall. The smell of the crispness in the air, the cooler weather, the changing leaves, the fall festivities, the warm and tasty drinks, but most importantly…Halloween. My birthday is in October and since I was a kid I developed an obsession for all things creepy and spooky. Growing up I would have a Halloween themed birthday party every single year that we would decorate the entire house for. As I get older my love for Halloween just keeps getting stronger and I find new fun ways to make each year better than the last. Since I started my blog I’ve given scary movie and haunted house recommendations but for some reason I’ve never talked to you guys about décor!

Please Note: It’s never too early to start decorating for Halloween

Every year I start decorating for fall in September, but I do this weird thing where I then take it all down the first day of October and replace it with all of my creepy Halloween stuff. To then turn around at the beginning of November and put all of my fall décor back up for Thanksgiving. Not sure why I do this, but I do – I’m complicated 😉

In most areas of life I try to keep things simple and that is definitely the case with my home décor, even for the holidays. The only exception is outside decorations for Halloween…the MORE and the creepier the BETTER. I used to love all the cheesy Halloween décor. You know what I’m talking about; bright orange and purple lights, obnoxious garland, huge fake jack-o’-lanterns…basically Halloween on steroids in a not so appealing way. But those days are long gone, now it has to be creepy with a modern and cohesive feel.

My favorite places to shop are Michaels, H&M, Pottery Barn, King Soopers and Target. I went on a rampage of buying décor last season so I set myself up pretty well for this year but I’ll more than likely still end up grabbing a few more things because well…I have a problem.

I’m currently in the process of sorting through my Fall and Halloween decor and deciding what to put out! When my decor goes up I’ll share the end result! For now, check out my Halloween Home board on Pinterest for inspiration!

Byyeeeeee.
