Faux Leather

I am obsessed with these button up skirts (I’ve been looking into black suede options lately! Stay tuned!) and the lace up trend finally made it into my closet right before I moved to NYC. I love these two pieces for a night out at a trendy restaurant or bar where I can have me a glass of rosé, my favorite!

For this type of look I rarely throw on any jewelry or accessories, I tend to learn towards more of a simplistic style in those ways. And since this outfit speaks for itself it doesn’t really need anything else to make you look and feel ready to have a fun night. When it comes to the lace up tops that have the strings you can tie I usually leave them untied and make sure that they are the same length on both sides. Tying them in a bow or looping has never really worked for me, but I have seen other people do it well so if it works for you go for it! Since I tend to be on the shorter side I also opt for a bootie or heel to give me some height. I’ve found that a good bootie or knee high boot really makes this outfit.

As a whole, this outfit is pretty saucy and trendy, which can be a little much for someone who hasn’t really explored new trends. If you are this person stay tuned for a blog coming soon on how I eased myself into trendy fashion! If you are at all like I was, it was easy to admire those who wore the styles but VERY intimidating to wear it myself. I eventually got there!

If you think the location of this shoot looks like a place you’d like to spend your Friday night at see my blog on Pork Belly “Bon Bons”  for a review on The ART Hotel and their restaurant.
